When the room goes quiet, Orb can keep looking. Background discovery is the part of Orb that works while you are away, so that something worth watching can be waiting when you come back.
What it does
With background discovery turned on, Orb periodically checks the catalogue and the offers on your services for titles that match the interests you have chosen to save.
What it avoids
It does not repeat titles you have already dismissed.
It does not invent titles: everything comes from the real catalogue.
It does not push a fixed number of picks every day.
Where you find it
When you return, new finds sit in “Found for you” with a short note on why each one is there and how to watch it. Your collections may also have grown with new matches.
On your terms
Background discovery is optional. You can turn it off, pause it, or keep it on without notifications so finds simply wait quietly until you open Orb.
Why it matters
The point is a useful find, not a daily quota. A single good surprise is worth more than a row of guesses.
