A clear agreement
These terms apply when you use this website or the Orb apps on your Android TV and iPhone. Orb TV is made by Precision Data. By using Orb you agree to these terms; if you do not agree, please do not use it. Early access also has its own Early Access Terms.
This is a draft written for Orb TV's early access. It will be reviewed by a lawyer before Orb is released, and the final version may differ.
What Orb is
Orb is a TV home and companion app that helps you discover films and series across the streaming services you use. Orb does not provide, host or stream films and shows. Titles, artwork and availability come from the services that carry them and from catalogue data sources, and they change over time and by region.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details secure and give accurate information. You are responsible for what happens in your account and its profiles until you tell us about any unauthorised use. You can close your account at any time.
Streaming services
When you open a title, Orb sends you to the streaming service's own app or page. Your subscription, sign-in, any rental or purchase charges and that service's terms stay between you and the service. Service names and logos belong to their owners and are shown only to tell you where a title is available.
Recommendations
Orb's suggestions come from AI and catalogue data and can be incomplete or wrong, for example when availability changes. Ratings and age guidance come from the sources shown. Check the service before you watch, and use parental controls where you need them.
Using Orb fairly
• Use Orb for personal, non-commercial viewing at home.
• Do not try to break, overload, copy at scale, reverse engineer where the law does not allow it, or get around the security of Orb or the services it opens.
• Do not use Orb to send unlawful, abusive or misleading content, or to impersonate someone else.
The Acceptable Use Policy has more detail.
Ownership and open source
Orb, its name, design and content belong to Precision Data or its licensors. Parts of Orb are built on open-source software that stays under its own licence; the Open-Source Licences page lists them and their terms. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.
Changes and availability
Orb is still growing. We may add, change or remove features, and we may pause or end the service. We will tell you in advance about changes that materially affect you where we reasonably can, and before anything you use starts to cost money.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Orb is provided as it is, and Precision Data is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for content, availability or charges of streaming services. Nothing here excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Law, changes and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Precision Data is established, unless the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be changed by agreement. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. Questions can be sent through the contact page or to [hello@orbtv.app].
